LC Library Events for June 2018

Wyoming, ON – The TD Summer Reading Club theme for this year is Feed your passions. This annual free bilingual program is for children of all ages, all interests, and all abilities, and is offered at 2,000 libraries across Canada. Children will be encouraged to discover and explore what fires their spirit, excites their mind and influences their choices. Registration opens June 16 at all Lambton County Library branches, while the collecting of stickers for individual reading progress begins after July 1, 2018. Look to Lambton County Library's eLibrary for free digital magazines that meet your summer entertainment and informational needs. RBdigital and Press Reader offer a wide selection of titles that can be easily downloaded to your digital device. Highlights for Children and National Geographic Kids are great educational and activity magazines for kids! Star Magazine, US Weekly, and Hello! Magazine are some of the magazines that will keep you up-to-date on the lives of your favourite celebrities. Be inspired with garden titles such as Do It Yourself, HGTV Magazine, Style at Home, Organic Life, and Cabin Life, and sporting titles like Golf Tips, Bicycling, Backpacker, and Boating. Magazines can be accessed immediately with an active Lambton County Library card and there are no late fees. These eResources are available at www.lclibrary.ca under eLibrary, eMagazines.

Financial Literacy will help teens get on the right track to financial freedom for the future, and learn how simple strategies now can greatly impact the rest of their financial well-being! Topics include budgeting, income vs. expenses and the credit bureau.
  • TAG (Teen) Pre-register - 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14. Teen Advisory Group (TAG) Are you between the ages of 12 and 18, want to earn community involvement hours, build leadership skills and meet new teens in your area? Enjoy snacks and have fun! Come to Sarnia Library and become a member of TAG! Members have their say in which activities and services are offered to teens.
  • 9th Annual Teen Photo Contest (Teen) - Submitted photos will be on display in the Teen Area of the Sarnia Library from May 30 to June 22 when members of the public will be invited to vote for their photo of choice. Only one vote per person per day is allowed however, the public may vote as many times as they like until closing day.
  • Board Gaming (All Ages) Drop-in - 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturdays on the second floor area.
