Lambton County Library cancels author Wab Kinew's Spring Visit to Sarnia
Thursday, March 19, 2020
Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Library has cancelled the One Book Lambton discussion with The Reason You Walk author, Wab Kinew, and Dr. Niigaan Sinclair on Friday, April 24, 2020. The cancellation is a result of ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus through social distancing.
"While we had intended to host a signature event to mark the conclusion of our One Book Lambton initiative, we have made the decision to stop event planning efforts in light of the rapidly changing circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus and resulting pandemic," says Darlene Coke, Manager, Library Services. "We are appreciative that our community embraced this year's title selection with hundreds of people choosing to read, share and discuss the themes found in Wab Kinew's The Reason You Walk."
Online book discussions about The Reason You Walk remain available by visiting the Facebook group, One Book Lambton. While libraries are currently closed until April 6, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, library card holders may access or reserve The Reason You Walk in e-book or e-audiobook formats by using the library's electronic platforms Libby, Overdrive or cloudLibrary.
