Clash of the Classrooms

Attention educators! Register and participate in Clash of the Classrooms reading challenge from February 3 - March 7, 2025.

Homeschool, elementary and secondary school classes are invited to participate in the Clash of the Classrooms Reading Challenge hosted in partnership with Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) and Lambton County Library. This is an opportunity to foster teamwork and a love of reading within the classroom.

Using the form, educators will report the cumulative number of minutes their students read between February 3 - March 7. Individual classes and entire schools will compete for prizes. The challenge is open to all public, catholic, and private schools across Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

Students and teachers/group leaders can read at school or at home; any time spent reading or being read to counts, no matter the reading material. Each minute an individual student reads can be added to their class's total.

Pizza Party for Most Minutes Read

Six classes that log the most minutes in their grade category will win a pizza party:

Two K-3 classes, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent
Two 4-8 classes, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent
Two 9-12 classes, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent

Cash Prize for Most Collective Minutes Read

Four schools total will win a $200 donation to their library or learning commons. Two homeschool groups total will earn a $100 for their group. The prizes will be split as such:

Two secondary schools, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent
Two elementary schools, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent
Two homeschools, one from Lambton and one from Chatham-Kent

Clash Cup Trophy

Two schools across both regions will be crowned the Clash Cup Champions:
