"The book tells the history of southwestern Ontario through the lives of the author's parents, John Hair and Alice Runnalls," says Shirley Deelstra, Branch Coordinator. "The story brings to light the character of the region and the society and culture of the people who lived there during that time period."
The author's father John Hair served on Brooke Township Council in 1936. He became a member of Lambton County Council from 1940-1947 and was appointed County Treasurer on May 1, 1947, a position he held until he was appointed the first Clerk-Treasurer in 1954.
